GROWTH RATE- The advertising and PR industry faced drawback in 2012 and there were expectations of a better performance in 2013. In the elections period(2014) the industry reporting an overall growth rate of 10.9 percent. 2014 is expected to be a promising year due to the national elections the overall growth of the advertising market projected at 13.1 per cent. This is the first time in the history of India that domestic political parties have hired PR firms to help connect with voters.There are more than 100 agencies-big ones with 10-15 branches across India like Perfect Relations, Genesis PR, and Vaishnavi PR agencies. The latest PRCAI trend report (2012) for India showed, while the PR business is expected to be between 11 and 20 percent the year.The PR industry is estimated to be growing at robust pace of approximately 40-45% p.a. In the present scenario international agencies look forward in the Indian PR industry, either through acquiring an Indian firm or on their own. These include Genesis Burson-Marsteller, IPAN Hill & Knowlton Strategies, MSL India. 



FUTURE TRENDS – From carrier point of view both Industry are giving best opportunities for the newcomers in this field. The main jobs are in advertisement and public relation field are - Advertising Media Planners, Media traffic personnel, Copywriters, illustrators, and creative individuals. According to Public relations specialists 275,000 jobs are given in the year 2013. Most of these jobs were in service-providing industries like advertising, health care, educational services and government, event management etc. Some public relations specialists worked for communications firms, financial institutions and government agencies. There are numerous TV & News channels, production houses, IT companies and BPOs/KPOs, hiring PR professionals in their companies. In other industries such as Hotel management, Shipping and logistics, PR professionals are quite in demand all-time high.

EMPLOYMENT RATIO - The job prospects in both fields in India are bright. To acquire an entry level job in Advertising or PR, strong copy-writing skills are needed.Excellent communication skills and good presentation ability, diversityare essential to succeed in the industry. There are more advertisers than advertising jobs, the industry is highly competitive.Experienced advertisers are getting opportunities to work on global campaigns. Companies are expanding worldwide increasing global career options in the industry.Employment of public relations specialists is projected to grow 12 percent from 2012 to 2022. There are more than 2000 agencies in the country employing more than 40,000 professionals. According to estimates, the Indian PR industry comprises 1000-2000 agency with their manpower strength of between 30,000 to 40,000.
